During the 2027-2028 school year, I am planning on hosting a whole tournament of math battles in Ottawa, ON. To help the tournament gain attention and decrease amount of stress over the rules, two math battles are going to be hosted a during 2026-2027 school year -- one for teachers and one for students! This page is for the students' battle :D
Date of the Battle: TBA, 2027.
Location of the Battle: University of Ottawa, TBA.
Remark: You are welcome to come to see the battle, even if you are not playing! However, note that only teachers will be allowed to participate in the discussion.
For more details about the format or about previous & future battles, see Math Battles; for registration and plan for the day, see below!
To register for the Battle, please fill out the following registration form before TBA:
Note that the form is for teams, not individuals.
The schedule for the day is provided on the right. Note that the Battle doesn't really have an end point since it depends on how many questions have been solved by the teams, how they solved them, and how they present them.
Remark: We cannot promise lunch to people who are not participating in the battle.
*Time period dedicated to a chat between teachers & organisers, including (but is not limited to) choosing the date for the students' tournament next year, discussing the difficulty of the problems, revising the full rules document.
Well, I hope you didn't click on this because you hoped to see the problems! XD
The Battle will include a set of 6-10 problems, oriented on Grades 10-12. As in any math competition, the problem set will include problems usual to see in school materials, which might require some creative thinking to be worked out. Only scientific calculators and physical literature are allowed.
So far, it hasn't happened :D
