I am a Senior Economist in the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI), Asian Development Bank (ADB), with over 25 years in economic research, project management, and academic teaching . I specialize in international and financial economics, including export competition, global value chains, FDI, economic governance, law reform, and financial sector development. I also lead the private sector research priority group of ERDI.
My work appears in top journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Economic Journal, the Economica, the European Economic Review, the Canadian Journal of Economics, and the Review of World Economics. I earned her Ph.D. from the Stockholm School of Economics.
I have experience teaching both graduate and undergraduate students, as well as providing advice to governments and international organizations. Prior to joining ADB I was a professor at the School of Economics, the University of the Philippines, Manila, the Philippines, Senior Research Fellow, at ETLA Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, Finland and Adjunct Professor at Aalto University School of Business, Finland.
