I am a senior economist at the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI), Asian Development Bank (ADB).
I specialise in research related to private sector development and regional cooperation focusing on development of business environments, private capital mobilisation, trade in services and goods, regional trade agreements, foreign direct investment, technology spillovers, competition and innovation, and SMEs in global value chains.
With over 20 years of experience in economic research, project management, and academic teaching at research institutes and universities, my work appears in books and peer-reviewed journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Economic Journal, the Economica, The European Economic Review, the Canadian Journal of Economics, the Review of World Economics, and the Industrial and Corporate Change. have more than 20 years of experience in economic research and analysis, project management, academic teaching, and consulting.
Prior to joining ADB I was a professor at the School of Economics, the University of the Philippines, Manila, the Philippines, Senior Research Fellow, at ETLA Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, Finland and Adjunct Professor at Aalto University School of Business, Finland. I hold a PhD from the Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden.
