Constitution
Article I: Name
The name of this organization shall be KASL 5th District.
Article II: Objective
The purpose of KASL 5th District shall be:
*To encourage professional growth among through offering opportunities of study and participation in professional activities.
*To promote the improvement of school libraries in north central Kentucky.
*To cooperate with other educators and library agencies in improving all types of library services for young people in Kentucky and the nation.
Article III: Affiliations
Section 1.
This association is a section of the Kentucky Association of School Librarians.
Article IV: Membership
Any person interested in the objectives of this Association is eligible for membership upon payment of the annual stated dues.
Article V: Officers
Section 1.
The officers of this association shall be Rachel Burgin, President; Lisa Fierro, Vice President; Laura Gabbard, Treasurer; and Sarah Smith, Secretary. These offices shall be elected during the spring meeting, and begin serving at the fall meeting.
Article VI: Meetings
This organization shall meet two times a year. The district president will determine the times and place of the meetings.
Article VII: Amendments
Any proposal to amend this Constitution shall be approved by the majority of the Board of Directors and presented in writing to the membership for action at the next regular membership meeting. Amendments to the Constitution require approval by two-thirds of the members present and voting.
February 25, 2026: Majority of membership voted to increase the yearly dues from $10 to $15.
