August 2025: The Kasinski Lab secured funding from the V Foundation to continue to advance their FM-FolamiR-34a forward clinically. More about the labs award and the V Foundation can be found at these links. The lab is beyond grateful to have the opportunity to continue this impactful work.
July 2025: Dr. Ikjot Sohal has ended his tenure in the Kasinski Lab. While sad to see him go, we are excited to hear of all the accomplishments the Sohal Lab will make at the University of North Texas. Congratulations Ikjot!
April 2025: Dr. Kasinski was promoted to Full Professor. A video tribute showcasing the trainees that she impacted, and those that impacted her, was put together by the lab. It was a touching reminder of how bringing people togehter from all over the world has shaped her career. She is forever grateful for the opportunity....
April 2025: The Kasinski Lab welcomes Abby Welling and Alejandra (Aleja) Romero Alzate to the lab. Both Abby and Aleja are 1st year PhD candidates, Abby in Biological Sciences and Aleja in PULSe. Abby joins our extracellular vesicles group and Aleja joins our therapeutics group.
Winter 2024-2025: The Kasinski Lab welcomes Iman Mevaa and Viyanshi Patodia. Iman is a 2nd year PhD student and Viyanshi is a visiting scholar from Indian, both working in the therapeutics group.
October 2024: The much anticipated Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine to Ambros and Ruvkin for their discover of microRNAs! A day to celebrate the advancement in RNA biology and the discoveries made in simple model systems. Honored to be a scientific "granddaughter" of Nobel Laureate, Dr. Gray Ruvkun. Including a short write-up that I contributed to published in The Conversation.
October 2024: The lab had a surprise party today for my '21st' birthday. I am truly blessed (and truly older than 21).
September 2024: A visit from the Kasinski Lab's 1st PhD student, Dr. Esteban Orellana. Esteban was invited to give the keynote for the 20th anniversary celebration of PULSe. He is now an Assistant Professor at Dartmouth after a 5-year postdoc at Harvard Medical School (Bostons Children's).
July 2024: Human Hasan successfully defends her thesis - Congratulations Dr. Hasan
Summer 2024: The lab welcomes new members for Summer Asad Ali, a visiting graduate student from Italy and Anam Upadhyay, a visiting graduate student from India
