"Know your role, play your part" became my mantra. Inspired by Allama Iqbal’s philosophy, I recognized the power of wisdom and spirituality, which now deeply reflect in my teaching practices. Through self-reflection, I identified gaps in my approach and pursued a PDQ from Cambridge University, a turning point that helped me create classrooms where students feel safe and heard.
Reading Paulo Freire introduced me to the critical importance of social justice. As a mathematics teacher, I integrated this philosophy into my work, conducting participatory action research titled Teaching Mathematics from the Lens of Social Justice in Pakistani Classrooms, which led to the development of a framework for achieving mathematics and social justice goals side by side. This research was published in the Asian Journal of Mathematics.
