Graduate-level course offered at FAU Erlangen. The course deals with advanced concepts related to corrosion phenomena in metals and alloys and introduces the students to advanced analytical tools such as respirometry, scanning tunneling microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, raman spectroscopy along with their utilities relevant to aqueous corrosion and high temperature corrosion problems. The course also introduces the students to contemporary topics in corrosion research including corrosion of additively manufactured alloys, multi-principal element alloys, predictive corrosion modeling, applications of machine learning in corrosion research, corrosion problems in clean energy technologies including batteries, fuel cells
