I am currently a PhD student at Oregon State University, working under Dr V John Mathews in the Information Processing Group. I work on many cool things here that all at the end helps in monitoring and predicting the state/health of many critical structures in different industries. The field of Structural Health Monitoring has evolved to be highly data centric, and designing efficient algorithms that are data driven has become more important. The goal of my PhD is to therefore study different data driven approaches that I can incorporate into SHM that can help solve the many problems prevalent in the area. As an academic, I intend to work on making the entire SHM process more automated, quicker and something that can be applied effectively with very high levels of confidence in the real practical world. To know more about the kind of projects I was and I am involved in currently, please refer to the Research page!
Away from the academic sphere, I enjoy sports in general. I play a wide variety of sports and I claim to be very good at most of it (always up for a game!). I have played cricket in three different countries at a good level ( Nationals/ Premier Leagues/ Division 1) and I have represented India in an international ultimate frisbee tournament held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I also enjoy watching soccer ( big Man United fan!) and playing it. Apart from sports, I enjoy criminal psychology, travelling, camping and hiking in general. I also enjoy conversations on various current topics that are affecting the world, and I am always up for one!
Thank you for having a look at my website, and I hope you had fun!
