1. Introduction
Welcome to KaroNow, a personal productivity application developed by Kshitiz Gupta ("we", "our", or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
KaroNow works completely offline for core task management features (except when fetching advertisements) and operates without requiring user accounts, logins, or cloud synchronization. This Privacy Policy explains how our app operates, how local storage is used, and how third-party advertising services handle non-personal data in compliance with Google Play Store Developer Policies and applicable regulations.
2. Information We Collect
• No Registration or Account Creation: KaroNow does not require user login, registration, or Google Sign-In.
• No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, request, or harvest personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or contacts list.
• User Content: All task titles, category tags, due dates and times, reminder configurations, completion history, and personal preferences remain stored strictly on your device.
3. Local Data Storage
All application data—including tasks, categories, reminder dates and times, completion statuses, user preferences, and app settings—is stored locally on your device using Android's Room Database and SharedPreferences.
No task data or user preferences are uploaded, synchronized, or transmitted to external servers.
4. Notifications
KaroNow requests Notification permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) solely to deliver local reminder notifications for tasks scheduled by you.
All notification scheduling and alerts are processed entirely offline on your device through Android's AlarmManager. Notification data never leaves your device.
5. Home Screen Widget
The KaroNow Android Home Screen Widget allows you to view and complete pending tasks directly from your home screen.
The widget reads and updates task information directly from your app's local Room Database on your device. It does not transmit or share any task data over the internet.
6. Google AdMob Advertising
KaroNow displays advertisements served by Google AdMob to support continuous app development and maintenance.
When loading ads, Google AdMob may automatically collect non-personally identifiable information, including:
• Advertising ID (e.g., Android AAID)
• Device Information & Identifiers (device model, OS version, language)
• IP Address & Approximate Location (where applicable)
• Diagnostic Information & Ad Performance Data (clicks and impressions)
This information is collected and processed directly by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not personally collect, store, or have access to this data.
7. User Consent for Ads (GDPR / EEA)
In regions where required by applicable laws (such as the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom under GDPR, or California under CCPA), KaroNow utilizes Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to present a consent dialog prior to displaying personalized advertisements.
Users may adjust or revoke their advertising consent preferences at any time through system settings or Google's ad settings in accordance with Google policies.
8. Analytics & Crash Reporting
The current version of KaroNow operates without personal analytics telemetry. In future updates, anonymous diagnostic or crash reporting services (such as Google Firebase Crashlytics) may be integrated to monitor app stability and resolve technical issues.
No personal task content or user identifiers will ever be included in diagnostic reports.
9. Permissions Used
The app currently requests only:
• Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required to display scheduled task reminders.
The app does NOT request access to:
• Camera
• Contacts
• Microphone
• SMS / Call Logs
• Calendar
• Storage
• Location
unless explicitly introduced in future opt-in feature updates. You can manage or revoke notification permissions at any time via Android system settings.
10. Children's Privacy
KaroNow is a general-audience productivity application and is not specifically directed toward children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because all user data remains on the local device and no user accounts exist, no child personal data is gathered or maintained.
11. Data Security
All user-created task data remains stored locally within Android's secure application sandbox environment on your physical device. As the developer, we have no access to your tasks or personal reminders.
12. Third-Party Services
KaroNow uses third-party services that may collect non-personal information used to identify your device for ad delivery:
• Google Play Services
• Google AdMob
