Hello!

Welcome to my website! I am Karoline van Gemst (Karo) and I am a mathematician.

Currently, I work as a postdoc at the University of Milan - Bicocca, where my advisor is Prof. Paolo Lorenzoni. 

Previously, I was a PhD student (and very briefly a postdoc) in the Algebraic Geometry and Mathematical Physics group at the University of Sheffield, where my supervisor was Prof. Andrea Brini. You can find my PhD thesis here. 

I am fascinated by problems in pure mathematics inspired by physics. At the moment,  this includes topics like Frobenius manifolds and their generalisations, Landau-Ginzburg models, mirror symmetry, topological recursion, and integrable systems.
