Karol Szafranek is Head of Prices and Inflation Divison at Narodowy Bank Polski and Assistant Professor at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. His research interests cover inflation analysis and forecasting, modelling commodity markets, time series econometrics and machine learning methods. He has published so far in Eastern European Economics, Economic Modelling, Emerging Markets Finance & Trade, Bank & Credit, International Review of Economics & Finance, International Journal of Forecasting, Energies, Energy Economics and Resources Policy. In 2019 the Foundation for Polish Science has awarded Karol Szafranek with a yearly stipend for outstanding research activities. In 2022 Karol Szafranek obtained a scholarship for outstanding young researchers from the Ministry of Education and Science.
