Eulogy
Karl Tadashi Watada was born on March 26, 1950 to Minoru and Masue Watada in Honolulu. He graduated from Kalani High School in 1968. Shortly after graduating, Karl bought his first car, an Alfa Romeo, which he treasured. He drove it for many years and held onto even though it wasn't running. He spent the last few years trying to restore it.
He graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
Karl first worked at Bank of Hawaii for nearly 16 years and then moved over to City Bank where he was the Vice President and Cash Management Manager before ending at Central Pacific Bank where he retired on October 31, 2013.
Over the years, Karl took up many hobbies and interests. Music was in his life at an early age. He played the piano, guitar and was the drummer in the band Tapestry. He was an avid tennis player and also enjoyed surfing and skiing.
Karl traveled often, but really was able to travel the world after retiring. He visited England, France, Italy, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan to name a few.
As a member of the Eyes of Hawaii Photography Club, photography was a big part of his life. Karl took many pictures capturing the joy and memories of others while being on vacation with friends and family as well as shots of beautiful, scenic landscapes.
Thank you Karl for all the love, smiles and memories that you generously gave to each and every one of us.
