4th Grade flip presentation: Waves

Rationale for flip project:
This artifact was a presentation and a quiz all online about waves, what makes them up and how they work. The lesson was targeted for the fourth-grade level and was a fairly introduction into the idea of what a wave is beyond just an ocean wave. It includes things like simple definitions for waves such as wavelength, amplitude, crest and trough. It also included how these waves interact with things in the world like sound waves with the ear drums or ocean waves with a buoy. It was produced on March 24,2020 for the tech in education course to learn more about using technology to produce a lesson and the tools that could be used to do so.
This artifact has importance for the standard that it represents. It deals with how the world is changing and using more online learning and how to adapt to that. This relates to a section of the standard that reads “uses technology to accomplish differentiated instructional objectives that enhance learning for each student” from section 5n. This artifact is an example of that in the fact that it was able to produce a lesson that was delivered in a way that was different than the normal classroom. The idea that this artifact would be given to the students first to learn the subject then the next day in class it would be talked bout. This covers the using technology part and the part about enhancing the learning for each student. This is because not every student learns the same way and an online assignment with pictures and sound might help them learn better.
I learned that it is very important to always provide different ways to learn material for your students. This is important because you will have a wide range of students and each one will learn differently. This has an impact on my future classroom because if I only teach a certain way not every student will understand the lesson and could benefit from it being told another way. I also learned that an online format for a lesson has a lot of possibilities that a normal classroom setting doesn’t. Such as the ability to watch a lesson multiple times. I also learned how this can be important to one students learning and distract another so it is important to always be trying new things and switching up the way you teach your students.
