Yards Alive is a pilot program started through the Columbia Association’s Climate Change and Sustainability Advisory Committee to help local homeowners and HOA members in Oakland Mills make more sustainable landscaping choices.
This group is a space for Oakland Mills and nearby village residents to share gardening resources and experiences in reducing lawn and other eco friendly practices. Yards Alive Facebook Group
Residents across Oakland Mills have formed a group that is working to improve traffic safety in our Village. They're focused on speeding, failure to obey stop signs and other traffic laws, improving safety at the traffic circle on Stevens Forest Road and other issues. If you'd like to be part of the group send an email to karin4oaklandmills@gmail.com to be added to the distribution.
This grassroots group was formed by residents in Harper's Choice and Long Reach to stop ill-advised stream restorations in Columbia and throughout Howard County. You can find them on Facebook.
