Welcome!

Everyone has a different vision of the future. Whether it involves flying cars, advanced AI, or living on different planets, most can agree the future will have one thing in common: it will be shaped by new technology. My name is Karen Zhao, a senior currently attending Dublin High School. Our world is constantly advancing, and I want to contribute to its future. I want to pursue a career in engineering, more specifically focused on computer science. In order to achieve this, I plan on finishing high school having taken multiple engineering courses, then graduate from a university with a degree in computer science.

Over the years, my extracurricular activities have played a major role in shaping me into the person I am today. Being on a VEX Robotics team and a CyberPatriot team since freshman year have not only helped me develop my skills in different fields of engineering, but has taught me the importance of managing a team in which each member has separate sets of strengths and weaknesses. Working on personal coding projects has allowed me to practice my time management skills, and learn methods in how to nurture my own skills as an individual.

As a member of Dublin High's Engineering and Design Academy, I've taken the courses Introduction to Engineering Design, Honors Principles of Engineering, and AP Computer Science A. In my last year of high school, I'm taking Honors Digital Electronics. If you're interested in seeing some of my work done in these classes, you can find them in my projects page, and to see some more of my achievements, check out my resume!
