Hi, I’m Karen—a designer focused on social justice, inclusive storytelling, and impactful visual communication.
WHY GRAPHIC DESIGN?
I do graphic design because it allows me to turn lived experience into something visible, something that can reach people in ways words alone sometimes can not.
As someone rooted in advocacy, identity, and community, design becomes my way of translating complex emotions, systemic issues, and human stories into visuals that people can instantly feel. It’s how I create space—for myself and for others—to be seen, understood, and affirmed. Every color, type choice, and composition becomes intentional, carrying meaning beyond aesthetics. Design, for me, is not decoration—it is communication with purpose.
I also design because it has the power to create change. Through visual storytelling, I can challenge harmful narratives, amplify marginalized voices, and build connections across communities. Whether I’m creating for queer joy, disability advocacy, or cultural expression, my work is driven by the belief that design can empower, protect, and connect. It can educate without overwhelming, inspire without excluding, and invite people into conversations that matter. Graphic design is how I contribute to a more just and inclusive world—one piece, one message, one impact at a time.
