Artist Statement

We all move through time in the same direction, always towards the unknown. Along the way we share this marvelous, awe-inspiring, and sometimes gut-wrenching experience called life. For me art is both reaction and communication. Creating art helps me wrestle with my response to the wonders and horrors that life presents. Painting gives me a vibrant language to convey my reactions while asking you to compare and reflect on yours. As a painter, I often use unusual color combinations and emotive brushwork to convey the restless intensity that I sense underlying all life.

I am simultaneously drawn to and revolted by AI art, so I’ve recently decided to start exploring it as a medium. I’m fascinated as it reflects back discombobulated fragments of society in unexpected combinations.
