Welcome to our meditation community! We are committed to fostering the conditions for a warm, inclusive, and safe environment where individuals can come together to explore the practice of meditation. To help us maintain this space, we have established a set of community guidelines that outline our shared values and expectations.
Living Document: These guidelines are not set in stone; they are a living document that will evolve as our community grows and our needs change. We encourage all members to actively contribute to their improvement and suggest additions or edits when necessary. Your insights and suggestions are invaluable in shaping the future of our community.
Respect and Kindness: Please treat all members with respect, kindness, and empathy. Be aware of your words, tone, and their impact on others.
Inclusivity: We welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and levels of meditation experience. Discrimination or exclusion based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.
Respect for the Meditation Space: Please help us keep the meditation space clean and tidy. Dispose of trash properly and leave the space as you found it.
Guideline for Emotional Well-being: This meditation group is not intended to serve as a therapy or support group. In the sharing periods, we will invite you to share your experience of the practice, rather than delving into current personal struggles or using the group as a therapeutic outlet. If you are facing significant emotional challenges, we recommend seeking appropriate professional support alongside your meditation practice.
Consent for Contact: Please do not contact members privately, whether through the WhatsApp group or any other means, without their consent. If you wish to connect outside the group, ask for permission first.
Punctuality: Please arrive on time so that we can begin our sessions punctually without any disturbances.
Participation: While participation is encouraged, no one should feel pressured to share personal experiences or thoughts. Silence is respected as much as speaking.
Own your experience: We invite everyone to speak from the heart and share from their own experience, honestly and vulnerably, using “I” statements.
No Advice Giving or “Fixing”: While we value open sharing and support, please refrain from offering unsolicited advice or attempting to "fix" or change others. Each individual's meditation journey is unique, and our role is to listen with compassion and respect rather than provide solutions or guidance unless explicitly requested. Let's create a space for non-judgmental listening and sharing.
Confidentiality: What is shared in the group, including personal experiences or thoughts, should stay within the group. Please respect each other's privacy and do not share information outside the group without explicit consent.
Harassment: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment. Harassment includes but is not limited to offensive comments, unwelcome advances or contact, verbal abuse, or any other behavior that creates a hostile or uncomfortable environment. If you experience or witness harassment within the group, we encourage you to report it to the group organizers as soon as possible.
By joining this meditation group, you agree to adhere to these guidelines and policies.
We believe that these measures will contribute to a secure and harmonious environment where all members can fully engage in the practice of meditation without fear of harassment or harm. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please don't hesitate to reach out to the organizers. Your safety and well-being are of utmost importance to us.
