Welcome to Kappa Alpha Pi, Clemson University’s gender-inclusive Pre-Law and
Pre-Government fraternity! My name is AveryBeth Samuel, and I’m honored to serve as President of the Sigma Chapter. When I first joined KAPi as a freshman who just moved hundreds of miles away from home, I wasn’t just looking for another place to put my name on a roster. I was looking for a place to grow, to belong, and find others who wanted to do the same. What I found was a community of driven, thoughtful, and passionate individuals who believed in something bigger than themselves.
KAPi is where ambition meets purpose. It’s where future lawyers, public servants, advocates, and policymakers come together not just to sharpen their skills, but to shape their character. Our 3 pillars of brotherhood, professionalism, and philanthropy aren’t just words on a website to us. They are the foundation of everything we do and how we show up for one another.
Clemson offers countless organizations and opportunities to be apart of, but here’s what makes KAPi different: we’re building something that lasts.
This is not a space for gatekeeping. In the law and government field, competition is something that’s inherent and divisiveness is normalized, but in KAPi we use each opportunity given as a stepping stone to help one another grow. We’re here to help you succeed, and we’re always extending a hand to take each member with us as we reach new heights.
As President, I’m committed to making KAPi a true home for students from all walks of life who share our passion. In the Sigma Chapter, inclusion is not a checkbox but a way of life, and laughter, learning, and leadership live side by side. I want our members to gain a support system that extends far beyond their time at Clemson.
Leadership is a trait that’s expected within this organization, and we want every person who interacts with a KAPi Brother to feel seen, heard, and empowered to pursue the path that’s uniquely theirs. As someone with an “untraditional” on the Pre-Law Track, I’m here to tell you that KAPi has a place for you. There is no stereotypical member here in KAPi, and that’s something we like to embrace through our unique educational backgrounds, interests, perspectives, and experiences that create a culture we take pride in.
Whether you’re a prospective member looking for your people, an alum checking in, or a campus partner curious about our work– thank you for taking the time to learn more about who we are. You’re always welcome here."
With love and excitement,
AveryBeth Samuel
