perhaps unknown life
interstellar, in the stars
looking for us too
it looks back and says
illuminate big and bright
therefore i'll do so
the camera
should not have the job
to capture fleeting moments
of stories, conversations, and interactions
to the world
a wave of longing
behind the digital screen
instead of exploring
the natural realization
that we all have our stories
meant for us to share someday
poem: camera - i wrote this poem a long and short version. i wrote it on the plane back to LAX. throughout my trip in Europe, i noticed that i got to meet many faces and interact with different types of people. it's nice to see how different everybody is and what stories they have to offer. i often see vids on tiktok showing human interaction and i won't deny i'm a victim of what i described in the poem but it feels weird thinking about it. like what do you mean i'm being filmed for talking to someone?? isn't that kind of weird to put something so natural in the digital world. the rest of us keep longing for that very interaction, but very few of us take the effort to meet new faces. i mean it includes me too. i don't go out that much but on vacation i'm "forced" to meet new people.
the city never sleeps
it's bustling and full of ignorant bliss
the euphoria of being wasted
for the night is young
blocked out amongst the bright lights
because nothing ever rests
yet you want to forget
just to sleep
so in the alleyways
hidden from the music and chatter
is the loneliness
of constant thought
the city never sleeps
because i'm always thinking about you.
poem: the city - the city describes a sleepless night. i characterize myself as a city because first of all i like the city. the city is constantly moving and active. that's what i like to think of myself as. i could be tired all day but by night i can never sleep. i often think obscure situations and conclude it with: "yeah, that happened to someone before." on a more personal level, sometimes there are people you can't stop thinking about. it's not something you would tell people, so that would be a "darker" part of the city. nevertheless, the city remains active. i wrote this poem when i couldn't sleep. lol.
