Letters of Recommendations

Due to volume of requests, past TA's have first priority for letter of recommendation requests. Requests from other students with less than three weeks' notice will not be considered. (Feb 2024)

Review these guidelines: https://startnow.arizona.edu/begin-prepare/letters-recommendation

Whether you are asked for a reference's contact info or an actual letter of reference, please contact me before giving my name as a reference. Reference forms received without prior communication may go unanswered.

Timeline for requests:  At least 3 weeks in advance of deadline.  Talk to me if there is a reason why a last minute request is needed.  If you received an A in the class and have specific reasons for the short timeline, you are welcome to email me but no guarantees. Priority is given to students active in the class (office hours, class participation, etc.).

In general, students who have worked with me as a TA have first priority.  Students who have had active participation (in the classroom or office hours) are also considered more immediately.  If you are requesting a letter having had minimal class participation, I recommend that you consider other options for your references due to volume of requests that I receive.

If requesting multiple letters:  Please provide a list of the institutions wth the following information.  A spreadsheet is easiest so I can keep track of the letters I have submitted.
