Message from the Director

I has been my pleasure to serve as the Kansas LULAC State Director for the past couple of years. My involvement with LULAC began as a member and faculty/ staff adviser to the K-State LULAC Council #11078 in Manhattan, KS, since its inception as a campus student organization in 2009.

Today, LULAC has approximately 1,000 councils and over 130,000 members across the U.S. In our State we have five Councils: Topeka, Garden City, K-State/Manhattan, Liberal, and Dodge City. I am excited to announce that our membership in Kansas grew from 114 members in 2017 to 129 members this year! I attribute our growth and success as an organization to the efforts of each Council.

In the past year, I had the opportunity to attend our 2017 National Convention in San Antonio, TX, joined by six delegates of the Topeka Council #11071. Additionally, traveled with our 2017 Treasurer, Priscila Agüero and Deputy Director, Tony Jaramillo to Davenport, IA for our Midwest Region Meeting, hosted by LULAC Council #10. We had a wonderful and very productive time working with Councils from IA, OH, WI, IN, IL, and our National Vice President of the Midwest Region, Joe Enriquez-Henry. Tony and I also enjoyed visiting with each Kansas Council in their respective communities.

This year, our national organization celebrates 89 years of service! Please save the date for the 89th Annual National LULAC Convention & Exposition to be held in Phoenix, AZ, July 17-21, 2018,

I encourage you to continue browsing our website to learn more about Kansas LULAC.

God Bless,

Madaí Rivera

Kansas LULAC State Director
