I am Kaniz Farjana Arefin, a dedicated theatre practicionaer ,playwright, director, and a Bharatnatyam dancer currently completing my Honours in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Dhaka. I performed in many plays as various iconic character like Nandini, Ophelia, Shakuntala, kajalrekha, Sonai and many more. My work as a performer and creator resides at the vital intersection of dramatic arts and environmental activism, with a specialized focus on eco-feminism and climate change.
I produced the play "Burigangar Itikatha" (The Tale of Buriganga), where I explored how women personify nature and why we must address the exploitation of both. My directorial portfolio also includes Samuel Beckett’s "Catastrophe", a production through which I examined how power structures dominate the marginalized. Besides I do acting commercially on tvc , ovc and films.
