Hawaiian/Chinese Kenpo is a system of self-defense. It is set apart from many other martial arts by the sheer size of its curriculum. Several forms, Pinans, Kata, defenses against strikes, weapons, grabs, and techniques are required to advance in rank.
Hawaiian/Chinese Kenpo employs a belt ranking system, similar to those of Karate, Judo, or Jiu-Jitsu.
Hawaiian/Chinese Kenpo is almost exclusively a stand-up martial art. It focuses on various hand strikes, kicks, elbows, knees, throws, grappling, joint locks, and grab defenses.
