Kamix 1.x is now in Long Term Support (LTS).
Kamix becomes a true microkernel today. Kamix 2.x has its own key-value store to replace the VFS of Kamix 1.x (meaning your distro can use its own), and has a fresh-new TTY that's roughly 3x more powerful! And now, it's binary-focused.
(for instructions on compiling Kamix 1.x or 2.x to an executable program or a website, see Compiling Kamix.)
Kamix boots in about a millisecond -- if you blink during the boot cycle, you might actually miss it! Linux (the kernel, not a Linux distribution) boots in about a second. I think we have a clear winner on boot times...
With Kamix 2.x, you are given a rescue environment to save your installation in the event of a kernel panic. Easily triage your crash and return to Kamix in a flash, with Kamix 2.x.
See the KV store at the time of the crash and the initial JSON array, and see the terminal prior to the kernel panic.
If you want to contribute (or make changes) to Kamix 2.x or 1.x, or share your custom software for it, you can join our Discord server! Find it under the "Links" menu in the top bar.
Kamix 1.x is now officially in Long-Term Support (LTS). It's been in LTS since 1.0.1 (the newest version is 1.1.0). Learn about your options, or download Kamix 2.0.
