Whale Sharks are another species that may be found in the Philippines, though only in set times of the year due to migratory patterns. Filipinos commonly ride on catamaran boats to fish as well as observe wildlife, so I wanted to incorporate these vehicles which are crucial to the islands.
This piece is one that focuses greatly around my Filipino heritage, as I am related to the Philippine flag maker. I take great pride in this, and did my best to factor aspects of the flag into my design to symbolize the proud Philippine Eagle, as well as the country it represents.
We had to choose a household item, and then make a promotional poster of it!!! Obviously, I chose the Nintendo DS lite-- and put a Kirby twist on it!
For this assignment, we had to create a logo for a fictional museum of our choice. I chose the Museum of Classical Literature, as I wanted something that was sophisticated, yet interesting to me. The style guide sample for the logos are on the left, while the full versions of the final logos are on the right. The style guides explain the thoughts put behind the development of the logos, as well as the fonts, colors, variations, and potential uses of the logo.
A redesign concept for Crayola where I gave it a slight anime-inspired twist! I wanted to make packs based on different anime genres with appropriate names assigned to the colors. These are the style guides for the Shounen and Shoujo box editions.
For this project, I was tasked with creating a pet food brand and idea, I have a pet goldfish I love dearly, and I feel that goldfish are misrepresented as pets that are low maintenance, so I chose to do my project based on fish and their care.
Given the origin of Goldfish in China, I wanted to inspire my fish food off of the Chinese myth that if a carp ascends the falls of Longmen, they will become a mighty dragon.
For this project, I was tasked with creating a nonprofit organization about something I was passionate about. I wanted to do mine about the inclusion of women in games. As a gamer, I feel like women in games are constantly mocked and harrassed, which is why I came up with the idea for GGS, or Gamer Girl Society, where people could gather and play together, free from discrimination.
I created a Brochure, Logo, alternative iconography, a poster, Business cards, and the 3D concept for a potential booth, as well as some free goodies that would be handed out to visitors!
For this project, I wanted to design a premium subscription-based package for artists. As one might tell, I am an artist myself so I tried to think about what I would want to recieve from such a package if it were to theoretically exist. I then came up with the idea for CONCEPT, an artist- themed subscription box highlighting a different artist to learn from with their individual techniques.
I would imagine that for each month of subscription, one may recieve a box such as this one containing different materials and media that pertain to each artist of the month. For example, this box features Digital Artist Ross Tran on it, and would include items such as a digital art tablet of sorts, a CONCEPT brand themed digital artist glove, a screen cleaner, and stylus, as well as a 30 day trial access to some sort of digital art software. Inside, one may also find access to the artist’s signature brushes for the program, as well as access to master class videos from the artists, sharing tips and tricks from their journey as an artist!
For this commission, I was tasked with creating the Graphic Elements and Promotional Materials for an upcoming exhibit titled "Stories of Labor from the Fields of Ventura County". I wanted to highlight the farmworkers of Ventura County, and the effort they put into their work. As a society, I believe we critically underappreciate the Farmworkers that help provide us with the food that keeps us happy and healthy, and I'm glad to have been given the opportunity to work with this material.
Many sizes of material were requested for this commission, including a 24 by 36 poster, 8.5 by 11 flyers, a 16:9 TV graphic, 5:5 social media graphic, a 5 by 7 postcard, and even a sticker design for the opening reception!
