KameScan: PDF Scanner & OCR · Effective 9 October 2026
KameScan is published by Ezta Studio. This policy explains how the Android app handles your documents and device access.
When you scan or import a page, KameScan saves the image, edits, document name, folder, and any recognized or corrected text in its local app storage. Generated PDF, JPG, and TXT files are created on your device. You choose where to save exported files.
KameScan requests camera permission when you use the document or QR/barcode scanning camera. To import images, it uses the Android system file picker, so you select the files the app may read. You can deny camera permission and still import images.
Printed-text recognition and QR/barcode scanning use bundled on-device models. KameScan does not upload your documents, images, recognized text, or scanned code values to Ezta Studio. The Google ML Kit SDK may collect app and device information, per-installation identifiers, feature usage, and performance metrics for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS and is not shared with third parties. KameScan does not require an account or include an advertising SDK.
Files or scanned code values are sent to another app or service only when you choose to share, save, or open them through Android. The destination app, storage provider, browser, or cloud service may handle the content under its own privacy policy.
Documents stay on your device until you delete them. Documents moved to Trash can be restored for up to 30 days. After that period, KameScan permanently removes them when you next open the app. You can permanently delete a document sooner. Uninstalling KameScan removes its local app data; copies you exported or shared remain wherever you saved or sent them. Automatic backup of app data is disabled.
You can review and correct OCR text, delete documents, revoke camera permission in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Recognized text can contain mistakes; review it before use.
If app data practices change, Ezta Studio will update this page and its effective date before those changes take effect where required.
