Personalized Attention
The instructor can give personalized attention to the learner, such as tailoring the lesson to fit the students' learning styles to help them address strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles in certain areas of the subject, making the material more relevant and engaging. With more focused attention, students have more opportunities to ask questions, use critical thinking skills, and solve problems in a way that works best for them, helping them gain a deeper understanding of the topic. As students receive more individualized support and see progress, their confidence increases, motivating them to participate in more challenges and keeps them engaged. It also helps to establish a good student-mentor relation, helping with academic support and promoting well-being.
Immediate Feedback
The student can immediately understand where they went wrong and adjust their thinking and/or behaviour to prevent the reinforcement of incorrect thinking. Receiving feedback immediately helps to address confusion before it compounds. Instant positive feedback also helps reinforce positive answers, making it easier to recall in the future. It also gives students a sense of achievement, motivating them to keep learning and pay attention.
Increased Confidence and Motivation
The small-sized classes give more time for one-on-one time between learner and instructor, giving more time for the student to ask more questions, increasing confidence and giving the instructor the ability to give more feedback to help the student make changes to their thinking style. When the teacher gives the proper feedback, it increases the students motivations to keep learning and helps them to embed it in their memory, making it easier to recall in the future during assignments or exams.
Flexible Pacing
Due to the one-on-one learning experience, flexible pacing empowers the students by giving them control over the speed at which they learn, allowing a more supportive, personalized and effective learning experience. Regardless of whether a student needs to more more quickly or take more time to fully grasp concepts, flexible pacing ensures the all learners can achieve success at their own rhythm, improving engagement, retention, and long-term growth. It also reduces pressure to keep up with others, removing anxiety and stress.
Goal-Oriented
Students will learn to believe that their intelligence and abilities are not fixed traits but can and will improve and grow with effort and learning. This belief will encourage persistance in the face of challenges. This will also encourage a growth mindset (e.g, "I can do this!") and will help urge students to push the limits of their learning, facing challenges, using critical thinking skills, set their own academic or personal goals, using effective feedback to improve and increase motivation. Students will also learn to be more flexible and adaptable, adjusting their learning styles and approaches to challenges and problem solving as they gain more knowledge and experience, and understand that mistakes can be used as constructive criticism. As learners use mistakes as learning opportunities, they will be able to create multiple strategies to approach and try out challenging problem-solving questions.
We do one-on-one learning to help establish proper communication between student and mentor to make sure the topic is thoroughly understood by both learner and instructor.
An open environment provides a comfortable learning experience for students, as well as space for all their materials.
Enough space between students, but they can still look to each other for guidance if needed.
One one one learning between student and instructor to help students gain confidence and immediate feedback.
