Ph.D. Thesis Work

Title: "Development of Metaheuristic based Workflow and Task Scheduling Algorithm in Cloud Environment"

Supervisor: Prof. S. C. Sharma, Professor Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee

The Objective of the thesis is to design and development of metaheuristic-based scheduling algorithms for the dependent and independent tasks while considering the various Quality-of-Services parameters to improve the performance of scheduling algorithms. To achieve this, we have analyzed the performance of developed scheduling algorithms in several performance parameters like makespan, cost, energy consumption rate, execution time, active host utilization, imbalance degree, and resource wastage rate. In addition, we design a virtual machine allocation framework for the optimal placement of virtual machines to the physical host.
