Good Morning, Everyone!
Thanks for joining me in my first ever online PD! I'm so excited to dig into some Google Drive Tips and Tricks to help make your lives just a little bit easier. :)
As you will hear in the video below, this email series is designed to cover a wide-range of comfort levels with Google Drive. As a result, you may already know some of these tips, but I'm positive by the end that everyone will leave with at least one (hopefully many more) new tip that they didn't know about before.
What you "get" out of this series will largely be determined by what you put in. I know I've heard lots of people saying that things are really hard to find in their Drives and that their things are very unorganized. There is no magic wand! It's just like in real life - if you let things pile up on you, you've got to put in the time and effort into getting them organized - the same is true for your virtual life as well. It's going to take some time, but it's not impossible, and it's not difficult! ...And I'll be there with you every step of the way. :)
All that said, onto the first step:
Google Drive Tip #1: Creating Folders and Subfolders
Below, you will find my video tutorial (which also includes information about our series as a whole) and written steps for this process.
Folders may seem simple (and rightly so), but they are THE most important organizational tool you have in your Google Drive!
If you haven't taken the time to create any folders or subfolders yet, I highly encourage you to begin this process sooner, rather than later. It's not going to happen overnight, but if you spend just a few minutes a day or a block of time each week on organizing your files into folders, you'll be done in no time!
Always know I'm here to support you! If you need help finding a folder system that works best for you, or you'd like to meet 1:1, please don't hesitate to reach out!
See you next week for Tip #2!
Hey, everyone!
Here is our second tip in our email series on Google Drive!
As you'll hear in the video, I wanted this week's tip to be something incredibly simple in order to give you as much time as you need to get your files added into the folders you created as a part of last week's tip.
Remember, organizing your Drive isn't going to happen overnight - it takes time, just like everything else worthwhile in life. I promise if you invest the time now, you'll be so glad you did! Your future self will definitely thank you! :)
Google Drive Tip #2: Color-Coding Folders and Subfolders
Below you will find my video tutorial and written steps for this process.

See you next week for Tip #3!
Hey, everyone!
Here is our third tip in our email series on Google Drive!
I've been hearing tons of great feedback from you all as you work through your Drive, and I'm so glad to hear it! I hope things are going well for you so far as you are spending some time organizing your files into folders so that they will be easier to find.
Similar to last week's tip on color-coding, Tip #3 also focuses on adding more visual interest to your Drive so that, once again, you can find your items faster!
Google Drive Tip #3: Adding Symbols in Drive
Below you will find my video tutorial and written steps for this process.
Instead of using picture symbols as shown in my video, some people like to use number icons to add visual interest while still keeping their files/folders in order in their Drives. (Numeric icons will stay in number order in your Drive.) See photo at right and this link for more information on using number icons in your Drive. (These specific number icons can be found here.)
As always, remember I'm here to support you! If you need anything or would like to meet 1:1, please don't hesitate to reach out!
See you next week for Tip #4!
Have a great Thanksgiving! :)
Hey, everyone!
Here is our fourth tip in our email series on Google Drive!
So far, we've done a lot of organizing and added in some visual tricks that can make your drive neater and more visually appealing. Starting this week, our tips are going to be more focused on actually locating things in your Drive.

See you next week for Tip #5!
Hey, everyone!
Here is our fifth tip in our email series on Google Drive!
This week's topic is a BIGGIE! The shared with me section can be really overwhelming since there is ZERO organization to it apart from its natural sorting by when the item was shared with you. The video and written steps below will walk you through moving things out of your shared with me so that you can actually organize and find them later. :)
Google Drive Tip #5: Shared With Me
Here you will find my video tutorial and written steps for this process.

See you next week for Tip #6!
Hey, everyone!
Here are our sixth and seventh tips in our email series on Google Drive!
For this week's Google Drive Tip, I've decided to combine two tips into one video because both of these tips deal with viewing items in your Drive. In these tips, you will learn how to change the view and sorting of your Drive as well as how to preview an item without having to fully open the document.

Below you will find my video tutorial and written steps (Tip #6 / Tip #7) for these processes.
