On March 26th, 2025, it is Prince Kuhio Day. It is a state holiday in Hawaii that honors the life of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana'ole and all the accomplishments he has made in his lifetime towards the Hawaiian people.
He shaped the foundation of Hawaii’s modern government and restored the Royal Order of Kamehameha l in 1903. On Hawaii Island, Kalanianaʻole Elementary is named after Prince Kuhio. As well as our mall, Prince Kuhio Plaza. Kuhio Beach park in Poipu, and Prince Kuhio Federal Building are also named after the Prince.
