I am currently a USDA Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Nicole Rafferty's lab at the University of California, Riverside. I am also an Ecological Security Fellow for the Council on Strategic Risk. I study the effects of climate change on the symbiosis between plants, pollinators, and microbes. There are roughly 1,500 different species of wild bee in California and these pollinators are under threat of population loss, in part, due to the current climate crisis.
I am specifically interested in desert ecosystems and the extreme temperatures, increased windstorms, and lack of precipitation that are affecting these landscapes.
