KalachandKalachand Roy ME School was established in 1975. The institute was set up with the active efforts of a few enterprising local youth and a number of conscious people for the purpose of imparting primary education to the children of this socially and economically backward region. Initially, teaching started in a hut like house made of bamboo on piece of land , donated by a generous philanthropist. Later, several local well-wishers donated a considerable amount of land for tconsiderablehe establishment of the school. The names of those benevolent and generous landlords are - Late Rukshini Barabhuiya, Late Kalachand Roy, Late Padmalal Roy, Late Biharilal Roy. Later, another local benefactor, Shri Lalmohan Roy, donated land for the school.
At the beginning of the school, the school management committee appointed two local educated youths as teachers. These two youths are Ram Kumar Roy and Dhanmondi Roy. Both of them were undergraduate students at that time. Besides, another local educated youth Mukul Roy was also appointed as a teacher in the newly established school. Moreover, another hardworking local, Shri Banshi Mohan Roy, was appointed as a Chowkidar (Grade IV employee) of the school. The school then gradually gets permission, and ad-hoc recognition in phase wise. Eventually, after overcoming various adversities, the school finally got the status of provincialization in 1984.
Kalachand Roy ME School now offers a total of eight classes from Class I to VIII. The scope of teaching since it's inception of the school was from the fifth standard (Class V) to the seventh standard (Class VII). Later, according to the government instructions, the class format was changed from class six (Class VI) to class eight (Class VIII). According to a recent government order, a nearby primary school - 542 Shildohr LP School was merged with Kalachand Roy ME School. That means now the perimeter of the school class is from first class to eighth class. The school now has a total of nine teachers.
