Commission Works

Living in Damariscotta, Maine allows for me to observe the beauties of nature, animals, and the sights that come with living on a large body of water. Many of these observations are translated into my work through manipulating the backgrounds in portrait requests. Portrait watercolor studies are my most common requests in commissions, therefore I have the most expertise in those subjects, especially in animal portraiture.

Although much of my work is done on the basis of observational studies, artistic processes have allowed for me to reinvent my observations, allowing me to carry my identity in my work. It is exciting to see my imagination unravel onto the canvas.

Loose-basis observations allow for the freedom of invention, while also providing the bare bones of the painting's structure and subject matter. This would be the technique I use in most commissions; the request is executed on the canvas in a manner in which the concept is enhanced by means of making alterations. I am open to all commissions, but requests that are not painting or drawings can be discussed privately in terms of my rates.
