I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics (with minors in Math and Political Science) from the Smittcamp Family Honors College at California State University, Fresno, in 2016. (Go 'Dawgs!) While there, I worked in public policy advocacy and developed policy statements for the California State Student Association (CSSA), including leading an advocacy effort against federal legislation harmful to college survivors of sexual violence. My undergraduate honors thesis with the Craig School of Business examined the effects of economic recessions on women's employment and labor force outcomes by bridging the theoretical literatures on business cycles and feminist economics. After graduation, I moved to Madison, WI, where I received my PhD (2022) and MSc (2019) in Agricultural and Applied Economics at UW-Madison. (Go Badgers!) My dissertation research included studies of how public policy at local, state, and federal levels both directly and indirectly impacts household wellbeing.
In my free time, you can find me wrangling my two pit bull mixes, reading in coffeeshops, or knitting my dream wardrobe. I am a certified yoga teacher (RYT200), oil painter, and veggie gardener. I also offer economics-specific proofreading and editing services for academic articles and dissertations/theses (consultations and rates available via email), and I am an academic editor for economics with Standard Error.
