NAU MAI, HAERE MAI WELCOME TO KAITAIA INTERMEDIATE
''Developing the academic, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of all students through a focus on Ako, Manaakitanga, Whānaungatanga and Moemoea.'
At Kaitaia Intermediate school we value and are focused on providing a holistic education.
Our aim is to not only grow students who are focused on learning and improving academically, but who relate well to others, who show care and respect for themselves and others and who know the importance of what they can do if they put their mind to it.
Our Learner Profile, developed recently with input from whanau, the community and tamariki supports this vision, as does our Honours System with its focus on various areas of school life. Although we only have tamariki here for two short years, they are very important years for their development.
Kaitaia Intermediate School has approx 200 students, 15 teaching staff and a number of caring and committed administration and support staff. We have five mainstream classes and three bilingual classes.
We are very fortunate to have three Reo Rua classes at our kura. Tamariki who meet the requirements are able to enrol in these classes. Students in our Reo Rua classes are expected to maintain high standards in both Te Reo Maori and English. Students in these classes participate in Kapa Haka, Whaikorero and Wānanga throughout the year.
