I am a senior journalism major and philosophy minor at Howard University. I am from Atlanta, Georgia and have lived there my whole 22 years of life. I started my journalism career in high school, where I discovered my love of writing. Combined with my volunteer work and desire to help people, journalism was a no-brainer choice for a career path. I started my academic career at Howard during the height of the pandemic. The campus was shut down and I spent my whole first year participating in online schooling. Though it wasn't easy by any means, I persevered and completed my three remaining years. I show proficient knowledge in the ways of journalism, taking classes such as Multimedia Storytelling and Digital Media Literacy and exceeding in both. The most important class I have taken so far has got to be my HU NewsVision Capstone class. In that class, I have learned how to quickly turn around a package, adjust audio levels, and even do a reporter live shot! I am confident I have all the skills I need to take my journalism career to the next level. I have been offered a position at Sports Media Inc. as a journalism intern and I can't wait to get started!
