The career I have decided to pursue is aeronautical engineering. I chose aerospace because my whole life I have always wanted to create things but have never had the materials to do it and I have always loved helicopters and airplanes because my dad works on Pax Naval Base. He would always tell me about how cool the helicopters were there and would bring me to his work every once in a while and show me around to see how truly amazing the aircrafts there were. After seeing those aircrafts I fell in love. So one day I decided why not put these two interests of mine together and I thought why not pursue being an aerospace engineer because it's what I love.
I didn’t know until recently that I wanted to be in aerospace engineering but it was always in my mind so I didn't take any extra special classes to pursue engineering. Until I went to the tech expo at James Forrest Career and Technology Center. This far I have taken algebra 1 geometry and algebra 2 now these classes will help me in the future and my social skills are great and I am a hard worker.
When im not in school I usually go fishing with my friends or work on my truck fixing it up to be ready when I am able to drive. I also have played tons of sports my whole life but recently decided to stop. I have played football, soccer, I have done Taekwondo and I was on a swimming team for a little while. I have very good social skills and teamwork skills. I have always been told i'm a good listener and catch on to things very fast I even got an award for most improved on my swim team. I have always been a very hard worker and always have a goal for myself to improve. I got a job over the summer at a farm I did all their landscaping so planting plants mowing grass weed eating etc.
My immediate plans after high school is working on getting a job on base and see what requirements I need to get a job im not sure if I will join the military or not i've always wanted to but can’t make up my mind. I want to go to CSM for 2 years and UMD for another 2 years for college. If I am not able to get a job on base I will work as an apprentice so I can say I have experience. Which means im more likely to be chosen because I would have experience.
After I achieve my goal, It can affect a lot of parts of my community by making military helicopters better which means everyone is more safe because then the military would be more advanced and have a lot of better equipment in general making the world a better place. Because they would be able to defend the states more. This job could also contribute to new defence systems that are unthought of as of right now.
