Outcome:
With this project, I wanted to capture what seems like a limitless whirpool of yearning, where prayers and self-talk become merged into one statement. I desired all of this to be shot in a frantic B&W montage of dreamlike imagery, presenting a narrative that depicts the subjects determination to seek for an answer that has been given already, and many times before. I shot this project at my house a week before we moved out, because the absent furniture made the home feel like reciprocal equivalent to the vacant and transitioning space of the character within the frame. It was spiritual and psychological interiority expressed within the mise-en-scene. The goal ro move from hesitant, static, and tripod locked resistance to a energetic handheld pace of perserverance, I wanted to bring forth a immersive testitament to a precious place in time for myself as my first short film, and as a tesitment towards my igniton to get up and start this entire process.
