Welcome to my i-Home
I am a structural geologist currently working as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal. I received my PhD degree from University of Delhi, North Campus in 2021 and joined as a faculty member in the same year at the Manav Rachna International Institute Of Research And Studies, Faridabad, India. Between 2022 and 2024, I worked at the mining industry as a gold-exploration geologist. Before joining at NIT Surahkal, I was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), India. I am a field-based tectonicist who uses mapping of field relations, geochemistry and geochronology to understand the earth processes. My research is focused on elucidating convergence accommodation processes in orogenic settings to understand the mechanism that govern how mountain belts form, through research projects mostly in the Aravalli Mountain Range, Rajasthan, India.

PhD in Structural Geology at University of Delhi, Delhi
MSc in Applied Geology at Presidency University, Kolkata
BSc (Hons.) in Geology at Presidency College, Kolkata
In the course of my undergraduate studies and the subsequent post-graduate course, I found Structural Geology and Tectonics as fascinating subjects. All the sub-disciplines of structural geology including folds, faults, development of different planer and linear structures and chronology of their development appear very interesting to me. So, I decided to choose structural geology and tectonics as a topic of my PhD research. During my PhD and Post-PhD research, I have developed my skill to interprete the large scale tectonics with the help of structural analysis of rocks and also understand the geological processes with the help of analogue modelling. I feel that 3D visuatization is one of the most important aspects to understand the crustal architecture of the Earth crust and the relevent science behind it. I am looking for motivated candidates to join my research laboratory for PhD and Master's projects. Please Click here for the opportunities.
