WHAT IS A SOCIAL CAMPAIGN?
A social campaign is a coordinated effort designed to raise awareness and promote changes in behavior or policy around specific social issues. According to a study by Mou (2020), social campaigns often use various platforms to build brand awareness or engage with a target audience, and the same principles can apply to campaigns focusing on social issues. These campaigns often involve aligning short- and long-term goals and using targeted strategies to communicate effectively with the intended audience.
WHAT IS "KABALIKAT KO ESKWELA KO?"
The "Kabalikat ko, Eskwela ko: A Social Campaign for Fostering Mental and Psychosocial Health in Golden Acres National High School - Senior High School" promotes and encourages to empower the concerns of each individual students within the premise of Golden Acres National High School - Senior High School (GANHS-SHS), strengthening their mental and psychological well-being, making a safe and effective environment. The Social Campaign is limited to the students within the premise of GANHS-SHS. It focuses on hearing out and addressing various concerns (such as: psychosocial issues, threats, mental health, etc.)
By offering support through Intervention Programs, Workshop Seminars, and Website Launch, the campaign demonstrates a strong commitment to strengthening and prioritizing student well-being. According to the evaluation findings of the study of Baldry and Farrington (2004) the intervention program is only effective in reducing bullying and victimization is on older students than younger students. Prevention programs help in decreasing bullying in schools. The findings of the study indicated some effectiveness of the bullying intervention, showing positive outcomes. (Yaakub, 2010)
The process in which the social campaign is to be conducted. Considering that it is measurable, attainable, and time-bound by constructing a concept paper in September 2024. Promotion with the use of social media (such as: video, and infographics) As stated by Biagianti et al. (2018), social media platforms can be used to promote engagement in services, such as mental health support, and facilitate interaction among participants to enhance the effectiveness of such campaigns. Also, some flyers with Quick Response (QR) codes that will enhance and give students within the premise of GANHS-SHS the concept of what the social campaign is all about, and what help it can provide. Consequently in October 2024, creating a website for the social campaign will enhance the clarity and act as a hub for updates on the campaign and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section. Approximately, reaching 300 students in the first month will make the campaign’s success. In November 2024, reviewing the impact of the campaign by collecting data and feedback from students.
