My Name is Yohana Maria Reda. I’m from Indonesia and currently doing my master at Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, majoring in occupational, educational, and social psychology. I completed my bachelor at Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. I’m interested in topics about diversity and multiculturality. Thus, I like to engage in events, where people from different backgrounds gather. After living for a long time in Germany, I’m grateful and appreciate the privilege I have here: I got to cross countries easily, live peacefully & many more (which are not always the case for many people). Currently, some of my friends and I are organizing an open donation for health workers in Indonesia. For the 2021 AKAP Workshop-Symposium I’ll be responsible for the Vaccine Roll-Out Committee.

I am Xia Liu from China and now a PhD Student of historical musicology in the university of Cologne in Germany. I studied Intercultural German Studies and Music. Now I am working on my dissertation about Mozart-Reception in China. I like to share my thoughts and writings in a more popular way, so that I have written over 50 essays in my own public media to introduce the topics of musicology,
I am also an opera singer and have been singing opera and art songs for 10 years. In the past three years, I’ve participated in over 30 charity performances. Dance is also my favorite thing, whether it’s ballet, Chinese classical dance or ballroom dance. What impressed me most was that I took my classmates in Goettingen to dance the Yi-folk dance together.
My most treasure in Germany was my community internship at the St. Michaels Church in Goettingen. I’ve organized and participated in Star singers, Christmas theater and regular mass. Since Feb. 2020, I’ve been organizing an online Taizé group. Many KAAD alumni have there a beautiful singing and praying morning. I am also looking forward to your visiting and participation.

I currently head the Orthopedic Surgery Department of De Los Santos Medical Center and the Section of Orthopedic Trauma of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital and Makati Medical Center. I also head the orthopedic section of a local government hospital, Ospital ng Makati, which caters to indigent patients.
Part of my orthopedic training was done at the Klinikum Grosshadern Hospital in Munich. In addition to my training, I also enjoyed meeting new friends, trying out the local cuisine, and travelling to various places around Germany. One of my most unforgettable experiences is going up the “Watzmann”. My friends from work asked if I wanted to go hiking (“wandern”) with them. There must have been something wrong with how I interpreted that German verb since that “hike” turned out to be a trek up a mountain! But it was nevertheless a great experience.
