FUNDACJA TALE EURO EST, CZESTOCHOWA, Poland

We define our foundation, according to the national, transnational, and European guidelines, a model of training services

offer with the following characteristics:

- Integrated model: each system (education, vocational training, and the labor market) while maintaining their specificity of

action, integrates with others to ensure services/actions aimed and focused on the actual needs of the users.

Each system contributes to the design and implementation of training / educational and professional citizen, taking the value

of a node in a network and operating company;

- Model oriented to the needs of the people, needs related to the exercise of citizenship rights, to the enjoyment of skills, to

the access and participation to the services that represent one of the challenges posed by the European Union on which to

measure.

- Model built around Local Training Pacts, which represent the place of consultation. Around their priorities and

circumstances, each territory was equipped with a shared strategy, articulated in the objectives and expected results,

activities, and indicators of the success of the strategy, and that through the centrality of education and training throughout

life, will pursue the goal of innovation, change and participation. This requires, on the part of each of the actors involved, to

rethink its supply system and therefore of organizational mechanisms, managerial, production, both from the efficiency point

of view that the effectiveness, in order to better qualify and finalize the services provided.

- Model coherent with the European perspective of the "lifelong guidance", because it takes as its objective :

1 . strengthening of guidance throughout life in order to provide users with the ability to manage their educational and

professional careers, as well as the moments of transition between the educational, training, and career paths.

2. improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the sectors education, training, and work and contribution to the reduction of

early school leaving, the strengthening of the meeting between demand and supply of skills, and increased productivity.

The Program Plan of the Foundation has been structured in accordance with these scenarios/objectives, assuming the

articulation of two lines of service Life long learning: The policy of promoting learning for life -long learning (or learning, also

known as the Lifelong Learning) is based on the awareness of the institutions that among their duties is also to facilitate the

exercise of the right of all citizens of all ages, social class or professional status, training, learn and grow, both in terms of

social and vocational education, for the entire life span. Ongoing formation is not understood only as learning for

employment, but also personal, civic and social, connecting to other key targets, such as employability, adaptability and

active citizenship. The people in this difficult moment in history - society, to bridge the deep sense of uncertainty that

pervades all areas of their lives, need to find individual solutions to socially produced problems. Lifelong Learning (Lifelong

Learning) is the solution, also identified as a priority by the European Community, to respond to the growing demand for

knowledge that the individual is having to respond to the world of work, in relationships with others, in living in general in a

multicultural, global, connected permanently. The person does not complete his training period with the completion of higher

or university education but continues to be formed not only professionally but mainly to get back on the topic continues to

produce, even in the deep, continuous and progressive transformation of the self.

Srednja skola Ban Josip Jelačić, Zaprešić, Croatia

web page

High school Ban Josip Jelačić offers several different programmes – both vocational (Hotel and Tourism Technicians,

Business Technicians, IT Technicians, Trade, Catering, Hairdressers and Beauticians) and general education programme.

We take pride in offering our students a great number of extra-curricular activities (facultative English/German/Italian, school

cooperative, drama group, choir, art group, sports groups...) as well as a lot of national and international projects that the

school takes part in.

We are actively involved in the eTwinning group The 21st Century Classroom and eTwinning projects Creativity with poetry,

Zoom in English with Web 2.0 Tools, STEAM and Robotic: a new learning approach, History and Its Effects on Today’s

Youth. Media Smart Citizens of Future.

These are some of the international projects we took/take part in: ACES project in 2011, Double Bourdain Project on

Holocaust, ALIANTE, SHE – School for Health in Europe, DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom), Day of Open Doors, Western

Balkans Business Challenge, Juvenes translatores, Hippo language competition, European Day of Languages, Junior

barmen cup, INTERSLAST, KAMELIA CUP.

Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement, mainly in the field of media literacy. The school has recognized the need to

boost media literacy because of the overwhelming influence media has on the students and their inadequacy to recognize

quality media products as well as to produce quality content of their own. That is why the school is taking part in a KA229

project Media Smart Citizens of Future. Working on the project, students will strengthen their resilience towards

manipulation, disinformation, discrimination as well as teach them to produce materials for different media types.

Multimodal literacy is a logical progression in developing media literacy since we feel our students need to be able to

communicate effectively in an increasingly multimodal world. The seminars, eBooks, podcasts, brochures about

cyberbullying, fake news, advertising manipulation, different media outlets created during the Media Smart Citizens of

Future project will be used to teach students the basics about media literacy. Being surrounded by multimedia technology

doesn’t mean they will be able to look at multimodal materials critically. We want them to be able to deconstruct the

multimodal text in order to learn how certain meanings are being made and then to create their own multimodal products

using digital storytelling. We intend to contribute to the Multimodal literacy project by creating a toolkit for deconstructing

different multimodal materials as well as scenarios for creating digital storybooks. We also plan to share examples of good

practice showing how it can be used in different subjects in order to promote interdisciplinarity, inclusion and responsible

citizenship.
