The Project
The K2-OjOS project (K2-OjímetrO Survey) is a collaboration between professional and amateur astronomers with the main goal of searching for exoplanets and variable stars starting from the light curves acquired by space-based telescopes as Kepler and TESS. It started as an outreach activity organized by the Instituto de Ciencias y Tecnologías del Espacio (ICTEA) of the University of Oviedo (Spain), which aimed to instruct several members of the Sociedad Astronómica Asturiana Omega how to distinguish and classify different types of stellar variability. Currently, several researchers from international institutions have joined the project, making up a team of 31 members and collaborators (10 amateur and 21 professional astronomers).
