Gears

This project was really fun! I really liked learning about gears and how they work, as well as applications of the simple and compound gear trains. Prior to this activity, I was familiar with the concept of gear ratios (I did the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car Challenge for two years, where gear ratios were very useful for the overall construction of our car), so working with gears now allowed me to refresh on that concept and learn how it relates to speed and torque in a particular gear. I also liked the experience of working with someone new- Aliya was a great partner and we were able to work pretty well together and get things done in time. Overall, this project was one of my favorites so far!
