The kids always ask "What made you want to be a teacher?"
I grew up in a family that was hyper involved in education. Their focus was predominately in special education, students with needs, and those "outliers". From an early age, I was immersed in it but never thought it would be my path for the future. Ultimately, what changed my mind was having experienced a variety of jobs and disliking most. The one job I had in college I never dreaded going to or disliked was at an after-school program for kids. I loved it.
How did I make it to Augusta, GA?
Born and raised Texan, living in the big city of Dallas, I met this person who convinced me to move to Augusta Georgia due to his career commitment to a local company for 26 years. While this may not be my forever home, I am happy to be here for the time being and the things that have occurred following my move make it all that much more worth it. The students are great here, my coworkers are great, and the people here are the friendliest. Looking forward to the many memories to make here.
