Our lab is interested in how emotional & social contexts influence our action & decision-making. We use a combination of behavioral, pharmacological, neural & computational approaches to address these questions.
Currently, our research is focused on the following broad themes:
A hallmark of a healthy social connection is our ability to relate with others. We aim to investigate the cognitive and physiological mechanisms of productive social interactions in healthy and atypical populations.
An affective disorder like depression is often associated with an enhanced sensitivity to negative stimuli, anhedonia, amotivation and rumination. We aim to gain a physiological understanding of how impaired affective processing may be linked to these behavioral symptoms and how interventions like exercise may help alleviate it.
