JZ Wang brings an impressive mix of graduate and postgraduate degrees, a professional engineering license, business experience, and a deep commitment to caregiving. She’s clearly someone who believes in lifelong learning—and apparently doesn’t believe in having too much on her résumé! Most importantly, JZ brings her skills, experience, and heart to serving our community. A community leader in Cupertino. Her professional and community experiences have given her opportunities to listen to people, understand their concerns, and work toward practical solutions.
Wang has been actively involved in the Cupertino community and believes that community participation is important. She recognizes that residents may have different perspectives and priorities, while emphasizing the importance of communication, understanding, and finding common ground.
One recent experience that reflects her commitment to helping others involved an elderly woman who had become separated from her way home. Wang spent considerable time gathering information and coordinating details to help the woman safely return home after she had been lost for several hours.
Wang views city government as encompassing more than roads, streets, and buildings. She is interested in the people, relationships, services, and quality of life that make Cupertino a strong community.
Outside of her professional and community activities, Wang is an endurance athlete who has participated in the Boston Marathon and the Ironman World Championship in Kona. She also enjoys forming small music groups, creating art, and reading widely. She continues to be actively engaged as a community leader in Cupertino.
