Dr. Jie-Zhi Cheng is the Vice President of R&D at United Imaging Intelligence and concurrently serves as the General Manager of the Wuhan Branch at United Imaging Intelligence. He is also a Distinguished Research Fellow at the School of Biomedical Engineering, ShanghaiTech University. His expertise spans medical imaging and clinical text analysis, with applications in surgical planning, computer-aided diagnosis/intervention, and quality assurance across multiple modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and clinical reports/records. At United Imaging Intelligence, Dr. Cheng directs product lines in pre-operative planning for various surgeries, e.g., thoracic, hepatobiliary, urological, gastrointestinal surgeries, etc., medical image and report quality control (radiology and nuclear medicine), intelligent ultrasound for thyroid, breast, and liver, etc., computer-assisted interventions, AI prescription checking&recommendation, and AI-driven medication guidance. The products from Dr. Cheng's team are in uses at thousands of hospitals in China.
Dr Cheng has published 50+ scientific papers and issued more than 30 international patents. He also serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Big Data and as an Editorial Board Member of BMC Medical Imaging. He received the Springer Editor Contribution Award (for Journal of Big Data and BMC Medical Imaging) and the Author Service Award (for BMC Medical Imaging) in 2025.
