This Privacy Policy explains how Jyotish — AI Astrologer ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our Android application. Please read it carefully before using the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you open the App, you are asked to enter birth details so we can generate your personal astrological (Vedic) chart. This includes:

• Full name

• Gender

• Date of birth

• Time of birth (or an indication that you don't know it)

• City of birth

• Time zone

We also collect the content of the messages you send in the in-app chat, so that responses can be generated for you.

2.2 Information Derived Automatically

Using the birth details above, the App calculates and derives astrological data, including your planetary positions, ascendant, Vedic divisional charts (Navamsa, Dasamsa, Saptamsa, Dwadasamsa), planetary strength (Shad Bala), active yogas, and Vimshottari Dasha (planetary period) timelines. To perform these calculations, the City of Birth you enter is converted into geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) using a geocoding service (see Section 3).

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide a phone number, email address, or payment information. We do not request access to your device's contacts, camera, microphone, precise GPS location, photos, or files. We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not use cookies (the App is a native Android app, not a website).

2.4 Automatically Collected Technical Information

The App requests the Internet and Access Network State permissions solely to communicate with the third-party services described in Section 3. Those services, and the network infrastructure used to reach them, may log standard technical information such as your IP address, general device/network status, and request timestamps, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

3. How Your Information Is Used and Shared

We do not sell your personal information. To provide the App's core features, your information is shared with the following categories of third-party service providers, strictly to generate your astrological chart and AI responses:

These providers process the data on their own servers to return a result to the App (map coordinates, chart data, or a chat reply). We do not control, and are not responsible for, how these third parties independently handle data beyond fulfilling the App's request; we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies:

Important: Because your birth details and chat messages are sent to AI language model providers (Google Gemini and/or Groq) to generate responses, please avoid sharing sensitive information beyond what is necessary in your chat messages.

4. Data Storage and Retention

The App itself does not save your birth details or chat history to a persistent local database, and it does not use its own backend server or cloud account system. Your birth information and conversation exist only in the App's memory for the duration of your session. If you close the App, this information is not retained by the App and you will need to re-enter your birth details the next time you use it.

Data transmitted to the third-party providers listed in Section 3 is retained according to those providers' own data retention practices, which are outside our control. Please refer to their policies for details.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Because the App does not maintain user accounts or a persistent data store of its own, there is generally no App-held personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have concerns about data already sent to a third-party AI or geocoding provider, you may need to contact that provider directly using the links in Section 3.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), or similar laws, including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any such rights or ask questions, contact us using the details in Section 1.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.

7. Data Security

We rely on standard, industry-practice transport security (encrypted HTTPS connections) when the App communicates with the third-party services described above. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Because the third-party services used by the App (Google, Groq, OpenStreetMap, FreeAstrologyAPI) may operate servers in countries other than your own, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country different from where you live, which may have different data protection laws.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or legal requirements. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

The App provides astrological content for entertainment, self-reflection, and informational purposes only. As stated within the App itself, it does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice, and does not make guaranteed predictions about health, death, or other serious matters.
